Map the journey before choosing the equipment
Identify reasons for visiting, available services and the desks that provide them. An office with appointments needs to recognise bookings and guide each visitor. A food counter needs to organise requests while customers continue shopping. A single arrival point can provide access to several services, always with clear selection and call rules.
Also consider what happens when someone selects the wrong service, arrives late or needs assistance. These situations are part of the operation and should be defined from the start.
What each element provides
| Element | What it addresses | What to decide |
|---|---|---|
| Appointments | Plan arrivals in advance. | Services, duration and appointment schedule hours. |
| Ticket dispensing | Provide a waiting reference. | Service selection and dispenser placement. |
| Touchscreen terminal | Guide selection and arrival validation. | Displays, code scanning and station accessibility. |
| Queue displays | They link the queue number to its service desk. | Visibility, directions and displayed content. |
| Service desk | Allow your team to manage calls. | Services provided and issue handling. |
Appointments and walk-ins: define how they work together
If you handle both types of visit, agree how bookings are identified and how walk-in requests join the queue. Define which services need appointments, which allow queue tickets and who can help resolve an incorrect selection. This aligns the on-screen journey with staff instructions.
Gesturcit connects appointments, arrivals and calls; EveryBind terminals bring that journey to the service point. We can work on connections to your applications: we review their interfaces and the required data exchange to define integration and testing.
One centre or multiple sites
For one site, prepare a simple plan showing entrances, terminals, rooms and service desks. For multiple locations, add shared services, each office's schedules and differences that must be retained. In a Gesturcit project, site-specific configuration enables a common organisation adapted to each service point.
Include customer-facing staff in the review. A display's position or a service's name can make the difference between an understandable journey and one that needs constant explanation.
What information to send to receive a proposal
- Number of sites, service desks and services.
- Arrival type: appointment, walk-in or both.
- Planned placement of ticket dispensers and displays.
- Applications you need to exchange information with.
- Exceptional situations the team must be able to resolve.
With this context, we can propose software, terminals and an implementation approach. The demonstration should cover a complete visit, from service selection through to the call and assistance.
